Lifestyle Habits That Can Affect The Survival Rate of Sperm
The sperm survival rate is closely related to male fertility. It is the proportion of sperm in a drop of semen. Generally speaking, the higher the sperm's survival rate is, the higher the chance of the sperm fertilizing a woman's egg. However, the reality is that a large number of modern white-collar men have a low sperm survival rate and even infertility. Except for a minimal number of patients with congenital causes of asthenia and oligospermia, most men have a low sperm survival rate because of poor habits.

The normal survival rate of sperm is more than 85%-90%, and that of deformed sperm is less than 20%. To make a woman pregnant, the minimum survival rate of a man's sperm should be more than 50%. Semen is a kind of organic matter, and the seminal plasma contains fructose and protein, sperm nutrients. In addition, there are prostaglandins and some enzymes. When the sperm survival rate is less than 50 percent, it is considered low, and treatment is needed.
The low survival rate of male sperm is closely related to habits in daily life.
1. Smoking and drinking too much. The longer and more one smokes, the less one's sperm may be in amount. This is because chromium in tobacco is a potent killer of sperm, and nicotine and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons can cause morphological changes in sperm. Alcohol also has direct damage to sperm. If the alcohol drops on the sperm, the sperm will die immediately.
2. Being sedentary. Sitting for a long time will lead to perineal compression, especially sitting on a soft sofa. Besides, local perineal circulation will be blocked, and local temperature rise, coupled with compression, the organs can be congested and induce inflammation. With inflammation, semen survival is naturally affected.
3. Eating improperly. For example, overeating spicy food is easy to cause men's genitourinary organ congestion, so the volume of sperm will be reduced, and the quality will change. Choosy eaters lack zinc and selenium, which are two essential elements in sperm production.
4. Having mental tension. Mental tension easily leads to endocrine disorders. Since the neuroendocrine system plays a vital role in the reproduction process, any disturbance of the neuroendocrine balance may have adverse effects on reproductive function.
5. Staying up late. The human biological clock controls the human endocrine system, and studies have shown that the endocrine system is strong at night. The same goes for sperm production, which happens mostly at night. If patients don't get rest, it throws their biological clock out of whack. Over and over again, endocrine disorder easily causes difficulty production of sperm.
In addition to the above reasons, the low survival rate of sperm may also be related to the patients' physical conditions and the living environment of sperm. For example, acute and chronic inflammation occurring to the epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicle and prostate, and other reproductive tract or genital glands can reduce the motility of sperm, resulting in a low survival rate. Abnormal cases of non-liquefaction or high viscosity of sperm can lead to a low survival rate.
In addition, immune and endocrine factors can also contribute to a low survival rate. If the sperm is exposed to the body, it will die within minutes to tens of minutes. However, if kept frozen, sperm can survive for months or even longer. If sperm is in a woman's body, it can live for 10 hours or even days. Normally, sperm die after remaining in a woman's body for more than 10 hours.
If a male patient finds his sperm survival rate low, he must go to the hospital for further examination. A precise diagnosis and symptomatic treatment are necessary. Besides developing good living habits, men can also use the traditional Chinese medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill. The strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects can effectively regulate and cure asthenospermia and low sperm survival rate problems in male patients with no side effects and great convenience.
