What influences does Chlamydia have in one's daily Life?
Chlamydia is an infection caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis. It is most often spread through sexual contact. This infection can be spread easily because it always causes no symptoms and may be passed to sexual partners if one doesn’t know the existence of it firstly. In fact, about 75% of infections in women and 50% in men are without symptoms.
Both males and females may have Chlamydia without having any signs. Consequently, you may get infected or pass the disease to your sexual partner if you don’t know the existence of it. Chlamydia can be passed on during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Chlamydia can also be transmitted from an infected mother to her baby during her vaginal childbirth.

You are more likely to become infected with Chlamydia if you:
a. Have sex without wearing a male or female condom
b. Have more than one sexual partner
c. Use drugs or alcohol and then have sex

If you have symptoms of a Chlamydia infection, your health care provider will collect a culture or perform a test called a PCR:
a.       The culture will be collected during a pelvic exam in women
b.      Your health care provider may also check you for other types of infections, such as gonorrhea.
c.       Results will take 1 to 2 days to come back.

Besides, women with no symptoms may need a Chlamydia test if they:
a.       Are 25 years old or younger and are sexually active (get tested every year)
b.      Have a new sexual partner or more than one partner

Most of these tests may also be done on urine samples.

Your health care provider may also check you for syphilis, HIV, hepatitis, trichomoniasis, and herpes. With appropriate treatments, the infection should be cleared up in about one or two weeks. It is important to finish all of your antibiotics even if you feel better. You should stop treatments until the bacteria are all eliminated.

Chlamydia infection can be effectively cured with antibiotics once it is detected. Some traditional herbal medicines are also optional, such as Fuyan Pill, which is a kind of herbal medicine with no side effects. Each female has to pay attention to her health care and do some tests in hospital regularly.
