How Long Does Epididymitis Last After Treatment?

Epididymitis is a common genitourinary disease among young men. Epididymitis can easily lead to other conditions in the genitourinary system, such as prostatitis, vesiculitis, infertility, etc. It brings physical pain to men and makes them anxious psychologically, seriously affecting their normal work and life.

Therefore, the most important question for men is whether the disease is curable and how long it usually lasts after the medical intervention. Generally speaking, there is no definite answer to this question because each individual's treatment length is related to the individual's physical condition, medication, and maintenance following the treatment.

Epididymitis is usually an inflammatory reaction caused by retrograde infection of the genital tract by bacteria and pathogenic microorganisms due to impure sexual contact or low resistance. The disease usually manifests in clinical practice as pain and swelling of the affected scrotum and can be accompanied by general discomfort in severe cases.

According to the speed of onset and the duration of symptoms, it can be divided into acute and chronic epididymitis. Patients need to seek immediate medical attention when they find the signs. Otherwise, the condition may worsen or develop into chronic epididymitis.

Usually, the treatment recommended by doctors includes medication and physical therapy. Regarding medicine, most of the patients will use oral antibiotics or intravenous antibiotics for anti-inflammatory treatment. In the acute stage, patients need bed rest as soon as possible. Besides, they can choose elevation of the scrotum, localized hot compresses, or hot water sitz baths. If the condition is severe, surgical treatment (such as abscesses drainage or epididymectomy) can be used. After treatment, most patients can be cured and have a good prognosis.

During the treatment of chronic epididymitis, in addition to taking a small number of antibiotics to control the condition, the patients should pay special attention to daily care. For example, In daily life, they should quit bad habits, avoid spicy and stimulating foods, avoid staying up late and doing strenuous exercise, etc. Only when the patients improve their immunity can they achieve the best effects with medications.

Patients can also take the natural medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, which is a purely herbal preparation. It is safe and has no side effects. It can effectively reduce inflammation and swelling and kill many kinds of bacteria, viruses, and pathogens, such as mycoplasma and chlamydia, that can cause diseases of the male genitourinary system. Therefore, it has good clinical efficacy for urinary system diseases, such as epididymitis, prostatitis, urinary tract infection, etc.

Usually, acute epididymitis can subside and improve within a week after professional treatment. On the other hand, chronic epididymitis requires a more extended treatment period, often ranging from two weeks to a month or even several months. After healing, patients have to review the disease regularly, and they should stop the medication after the epididymis is gone instead of stopping it randomly.

Epididymitis is often associated with urethritis, prostatitis, etc. Because urethritis, prostatitis, etc., are male diseases that are difficult to treat, patients must seek timely and regular medical treatment. It is essential to treat epididymitis and the primary diseases, and the complications should not be ignored.

Therefore, a multi-pronged approach can be used to achieve the best results. Because the duration of treatment is different for each patient, it is essential not only to standardize the medication but also to pay more attention to personal maintenance of the epididymis in daily life. In this way, patients can get rid of the disease and avoid its recurrence in later life.
