Epididymitis: Elevating the Scrotum can Reduce Pain

The purpose of elevating the scrotum is to raise the position of the epididymis and testis within the scrotum, relax the spermatic cord, reduce the tugging pain caused by testicular and epididymal swelling, and enable the local blood and lymphatic circulation to be improved, local edema can be reduced, and the symptoms can be relieved.

Therefore, elevating the scrotum is known to reduce epididymitis pain.

The correct way to support the scrotum is: When lying flat, place a square pillow under the scrotum and place the scrotum at symphysis level or higher; when standing, place a cotton pad under the scrotum and pull upward with elastic underwear, but avoid squeezing the scrotum.

In addition to elevating the scrotum to relieve pain, there are several other ways to relieve symptoms.

2. Medication

OTC and prescription medications can be used to relieve pain caused by epididymitis. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, and analgesics, such as paracetamol, can help reduce pain and discomfort. However, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using medications to ensure safe and proper dosing. Patients can also choose to take oral Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, which have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, detoxifying, and pain-relieving effects, which help to eliminate inflammation, relieve pain, and restore the normal function of tissues.

3. Rest And Stress Reduction

Rest is vital for recovery from epididymitis. Proper rest reduces pain and discomfort and helps the body fight infection. Patients should avoid overexertion and stress, and reducing stress is also important to soothe pain and increase comfort. Rest in bed and avoid excessive activity can speed up the recovery process.

4. Personal Hygiene

Maintaining good genital hygiene is an important step in preventing and managing epididymitis. Patients should wash the penis and epididymis area regularly, using gentle cleansing products and avoiding irritants. Also, keep your body clean and change your underwear regularly, as avoiding hot and humid environments can help reduce the risk of infection.

5. Adequate Water Intake

Maintaining adequate water intake helps to dilute urine and reduce the retention of bacteria and harmful substances in the urethra and epididymis area. Drinking enough water is recommended to help clean the urethra and epididymis and reduce the risk of infection. People should avoid stimulant drinks such as coffee, tea, and alcohol.

Epididymitis often leads to painful symptoms, and patients can effectively relieve the pain and discomfort it causes using methods that work for them. Focusing on treating and preventing epididymitis is vital to maintaining men's health. If a man has epididymitis, he should consult his doctor and follow his recommendations for treatment and management to restore health and improve life quality.
