Can Non-gonococcal Urethritis Be Tested Through Urinary Examination?

Normally, the incubation period of non-gonococcal urethritis(NGU) is 7-21 days, patients only have few or no urethral secretions, which is serous or mucinous, and the symptoms are mild with no systemic symptoms. The main pathogens of NGU are Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum. Therefore, in general, patients can not be diagnosed as NGU through urine examination. Many patients are normal through routine urine examination before they are excluded, so it is inaccurate to have urine examinations to be diagnosed.

Patients can be examined by urethral secretion or chlamydia and mycoplasma tests, or serum examination. Therefore, if you suspect that you are suffering from NGU, it is recommended that you go to the regular hospital in time for urinary tract secretion examination, early detection and early treatment is needed to avoid the aggravation of the disease and more harm to your health.

The etiology of NGU is complicated, so it was difficult for patients to be treated. Moreover, patients with long-term NGU are more challenging to be treated. Herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill can be chosen, and it can activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, relieve Qi, and pain.

It contains plantain seed, safflower, houttuynia, eaglewood, Fructus aurantii, and other herbs, so the effect of the herbs can effectively alleviate dysuria, frequency, and urgency of urination and other symptoms. Patients can achieve the effect of both treatments of symptoms by cooperating with chemical medicine. However, NGU is prone to recurrence, so patients need to be also strictly controlled in the diet.

What causes recurrent NGU? How should patients prevent it?

1. Mutual infection or repeated infection: If your partners are not receiving standard treatment with you together, it is easy to cause mutual infection or repeated infection. As non-gonococcal urethritis is a sexually transmitted disease, it is easy to spread through sex. Therefore, it is recommended that couples go to the hospital together for examinations.

2. No full course of treatment: Because the latent period of NGU is relatively long and the self-conscious symptoms are not obvious, it is often neglected and not treated in time, leading to the repeated condition.

3. Non-standard drug use: It will affect the curative effect. Many patients were diagnosed, and they will take the medication for few days, when they feel symptoms have been improved or disappeared, they will naturally think that they have been cured and will stop the treatment, but the symptoms appear again soon, leading to recurrent NGU.

4.Mixed infection: It increases the difficulty of treatment.

Patients should adhere to regular treatment and avoid giving up the treatment halfway. When the treatment is completed, you need to go to the hospital for review or evaluation. If symptoms persist or recur, they should be checked immediately. NGU may be caused by infection through sexual contact, so sexual contact should be avoided, and diaphragmatic contraceptive devices such as condoms should be used before patients and their sexual partners are completely cured.
